Vedanta Scholarship: We instituted the Vedanta Scholarship for deserving students pursuing higher engineering and medicine education. In 2011-12, Rs. 4.1 lakhs was distributed across 38 students. Dr S Surya Prakash, RDO, Mettur Taluk, was chief guest at the function.

Evening study centers: We run eight evening study centers at Mettur to reinforce the cause of continuous education and reduce school drop outs. We provided quality education to 296 rural children.

Supporting Government Schools: MALCO supported Government schools in plant vicinity with study materials, desks and benches.

Child Friendly Village Project:

The Objectives are to ensure all school age children are in school, all children are covered under immunization and all children possess a valid birth certificate, no child labour in the village, nutritional security of the household. During 2011-12, Malco celebrated 22 children first birthday in Ramamoorthinagar model village under Child Friendly Village Project.
